How To Make DIY Yarn Trees

These DIY Yarn Trees are so easy and fun! I love how there’s so many different textures of yarn to choose from. Mix it up with different colors or however you want! These will for sure become apart of your Holiday collection.

Yarn Tree Supplies

  • Yarn of your choice
  • Small round wood slices
  • Hot Glue/glue gun
  • Styrofoam Cones (variety of sizes)

Making Your Yarn Trees

Wrapping Your Yarn Around The Cone

Start by hot gluing a piece of your yarn at the bottom of your cone.

Place your finger on the glued yarn once it’s cooled and continue wrapping/gluing yarn working your way up to the top of your cone. Be careful not to burn yourself, work slowly.

When you get to the top, cut your yarn and hot glue to the top.

Add Round Wood Slices

I used 2 wood slices for each of my trees.

I glued both of the wood slices together, and then glued them to the bottom of my cone to make the base of my tree.

Decorate With Your Yarn Trees

I made these for the Christmas Village that I made! They looked so good mixed in with the bottlebrush trees. I want to make a bunch of big trees using a variety of textures/colors of yarn to add around my house! Such a cute and easy DIY!
