easter eggs – Frugal Fitz Designs

I'm always looking for fun Holiday DIY projects that won't break the bank. I came across these cute pre-colored (or plain white) blank Easter Eggs at Walmart, and the best part was.... they were only $2.00 a dozen! I thought about what I could do with them, and this is what I made. As you read below, I have listed step by step directions on how to make these for your home! What You Will Need Carton of fake eggs ( I found mine at Walmart for $2.00)Permanent VinylTransfer TapeCut Machine Easter Egg Decor Steps Step 1: You will have your Cricut Design Space open (or whatever program you are working with). You are going to choose the font you want on your eggs. (I used The Skinny Bold font from Dafont.com). You will type out the words you want on your eggs. Step 2: Your next step is to measure your egg to decide how big you will need each word. **Each of my words were 1" wide x 1.1" height** Step 3: Now that all your words are the way you want them, you are ready to pick out the color of vinyl that you want and have them cut. Step 4: Once your words are cut and weeded, they are ready for Transfer Tape. (I re used 1 piece of transfer tape for each word). Step 5: You are going to cut a piece of Transfer Tape large enough to only cover the bottom half of your letters. Step 6: Apply the Transfer Tape to only the bottom half of your letters then peel off the vinyl with your Transfer Tape. At this point your top half of your letters should be left dangling. Step 7: Place your dangling letters on your egg. You will want to press these letters down onto the egg so they will stick. Gently start pulling your transfer tape down while pushing your letters down onto the egg. (this is where your patience comes in). Step 8: Your transfer tape should be completely removed at this point. Step 9: The last step I like to do is, gently push letters onto the egg. Giving it a nice grip, so that your letters aren't going to move. Step 10: NOW IT'S TIME TO DECORATE!
